October beauty haul.

Recently I get a bit too much excited about new launches in the beauty world, and, as a consequence, I happened to spend my money in some of them, since I just can't resist change my beauty stash when it comes a new season. You all maybe already know Lush launched its Christmas limited edition, or Bourjois came out with some cool and innovative products, and when you get to see them in the shop and/or it comes an ASOS' discount code in you email box, how can you say no?!

Recentemente mi lascio un po' troppo entusiasmare dai nuovi lanci nel mondo cosmetico, e, come conseguenza, è involontariamente e casualmente capitato che spendessi soldi in alcuni di essi, dato che non so effettivamente resistere ad allargare e rinnovare la mia selezione di prodotti beauty quando la stagione cambia. Probabilmente sapete già tutte che Lush ha lanciato la sua collezione nataliazia, o che Bourjois se n'è uscito con dei nuovi prodotti interessanti e innovativi, e be', quando poi li vedi dal vivo e/o ti arrivano sconti ASOS via mail, come puoi dir di no?!

As I said, Lush came out this month with their Christmas line, in which it appears finally again the face cleanser Lush Let The Good Times Roll (6.35£), which I never tried before, but of which I read a lot of enthusiastic online reviews last year, all about how good it is, that I'd wanted to buy it last winter when in shops was a bit difficult to find. This year I immediately went to a Lush store and bought three packs of it (yep, only trusting online reviews), to be sure to have a stock for a long time. I put some of them in the freezer, as Bea from Strawberry Makeup Bag and the Lush girl suggested, even if recently I read somewhere it would stop to be a limited edition (but I'm not sure about it). Hopely the scent will be good even when I'll take them out of the freezer; now I'm using it for a few weeks, and I'm simply loving it: first of all, you can't not fall in love with it simply smelling its fabulous cake's scent, and everyone loves cakes, right? But the product itself it's actually really good and helped me a lot with my bad skin reactions to the change of weather this month. It's a pity the product in the packaging is not that much, and I think I will buy others soon, in case of discontinued-products-again problems and abstinence crisis next spring. 

Along with it the Lush guy gave me a Lush Happy Hippy sample, a shower gel smelling lemony and citrus, which it tried just once, but I'm not that impressed; scent-wise it's quite good (above all if paired with my & Other Stories Sugar Crush Body Scrub), but it's a bit difficult to have a good foam in the shower, which is a meh point.

Come ho detto, Lush questo mese ha lanciato la sua collezione natalizia, in cui è finalmente riapparso il detergente viso Lush Maisenza (9.50€), che tutte l'anno scorso hanno amato, ma che io non ho mai potuto provare. Ho però letto review entusiaste ovunque lo scorso inverno, tutte che raccontavano quanto fosse un buon prodotto, che già l'anno scorso avrei voluto provarlo, quando ormai però era introvabile nei negozi. Così quest'anno mi sono precipitata subito in una bottega Lush e ne ho comprate tre confezioni (yep, semplicemente fidandomi di ciò che ho letto online), per essere certa di avere una scorta decente per molto tempo. Ne ho messi due in freezer, come suggerito da Bea di Strawberry Makeup Bag e dalla ragazza della bottega Lush, anche se in questi giorni mi pare di aver letto che entra nella collezione permanente (ma prendete questa informazione con le pinze). Spero che effettivamente il profumo si mantenga anche quando li scongelerò; ora sto usando l'altro da qualche settimana, e lo sto semplicemente amando: prima di tutto, non si può non innamorarsi del suo profumo delizioso di torta (o quasi), e tutti amano le torte, no? Ma il prodotto in sé è in realtà molto buono anch'esso, e mi ha aiutato egregiamente a risolvere i problemi di una pelle sensibile soggetta al cambio di stagione repentino. E' un peccato che non vi sia più prodotto nella confezione (lo so che scade in fretta, ma il mio è già quasi finito), e dunque penso che ne acquisterò altri molto presto, in caso li facciano sparire di nuovo, e/o di future crisi d'astinenza primaverili.
Insieme il ragazzo della bottega Lush mi ha dato un sample di Lush Happy Hippy, un gel doccia che ha una profumazione agrumata, e che ho provato solamente una volta, ma non ne sono rimasta particolarmente colpita; come profumazione è molto gradevole (soprattutto se abbinato al mio amato Other Stories Sugar Crush Body Scrub), ma è un po' difficile ottenere una bella schiuma, che è un po' un peccato.

I was fascinated when the Bourjois Java Rice Powder came out, because, as you maybe already know, this product has a really interesting history: it was the products thanks to which, Bourjois started to be well noted as a makeup brand, up in the 1879; now they relaunched it with a modern formulation and a cute mint green vintage packaging, for their 150 anniversary. And I want to say a thing: this product should be bought even just for its packaging, as it's extremely cute and nice up on my makeup table, that I could seriously consider it part of my room decor. Speaking about the product itself, it's a fine pink-based ( which, don't worry, transfer completely transparent on the skin) face powder, containing some rade shimmers here and there, and smelling old-school like grandma old makeup but revisited. I used it a few time and I'm liking how it looks on the skin; the only problem I found since now is that shimmers tend to disappear in a few hours (and for "few hours" I mean: maximum two hours), which is a pity since its particularity was given by them and the light they can help you reach for your face.
Maybe I will have the occasion to say this in another seat here on my blog, hopefully with a good and precise idea on the basis to comparison, but I wanted to anticipate it now: I saw a bunch of videos and read a lot of blog posts, saying the Bourjois Java Rice Powder is the cheaper version of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder. Well, I don't own the second one, but just at a first sight to the Bourjois powder and some looks to online swatches of the Hourglass powder, I clearly saw the Bourjois' is not a dupe at all. Just saying, be aware of that: the shimmers in the Bourjois Java Rice Powder are rare, and the typical Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder's pearlescence is completely absent; it can give a bit of dimension to your face, but don't expect a radiant and glowy look just using this.

Sono rimasta affascinata dalla Bourjois Java Rice Powder non appena è uscita, perchè, come forse già saprete, si tratta di un prodotto con una storia interessante: è stato il prodotto grazie a cui Bourjois è diventato un brand noto a livello internazionale, indietro nel 1879; ora l'hanno riproposto con una formulazione moderna e un carinissimo packaging vintage mint green, per festeggiare il 150 compleanno del brand. E vorrei dire una cosa: questo prodotto varrebbe la pena di acquistarlo anche soltanto per il suo packaging, dato che è estremamente adorabile anche solo da vedersi nella postazione makeup, tanto che potrei seriamente considerarlo un articolo d'arredo. Parlando del prodotto in sé, si tratta di una polvere viso sottilissima e di base rosa (ma non c'è da preoccuparsi, sulla pelle si trasferisce completamente trasparente), che contiene qualche shimmer qua e là, e inoltre profuma di vecchio makeup (e sì, penserete a vostra nonna), ma rivisitato. L'ho utilizzata un po' di volte e mi sta piacendo l'aspetto che dona alla pelle; l'unico problema che ho trovato finora è che effettivamente gli shimmer tendono a scomparire nel giro di qualche ora (e per "qualche ora" intendo massimo due), che è un peccato dato che la sua particolarità era data proprio dagli shimmer e dalla luce che potevano donare al viso.
Forse avrò l'occasione di dirlo in una sede più appropriata su questo blog, si spera con una più precisa idea sul termine di paragone, ma volevo anticiparlo velocemente ora: ho visto moltissimi video e letto tanti blog post che affermano che la Bourjois Java Rice Powder sia l'alternativa economica della Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder. Be', io non possiedo la seconda, ma già dal primo sguardo alla cipria Bourjois e dopo aver visto qualche swatch online della cipria Hourglass, riesco decisamente a percepire che la Bourjois non sia un dupe, ma proprio per niente. Per dirvi, siatene coscienti nel caso di acquisto: gli shimmer nella Bourjois Java Rice Powder sono pochi e radi, e la tipica perlescenza della Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder è completamente assente; la cipria Bourjois riesce a dare un po' di dimensione al viso, ma non aspettatevi un look radiante e luminosissimo semplicemente grazie a lei.

Since ASOS had discounts on all the Bourjois products, I decided to order some of the ones I wanted to try for a while, such as the Bourjois Cream Blushes (7.99£), which are maybe the most talked Bourjois' products in the beauty bloggers' world: I decided to go for the shade 02 Healthy Glow which is the one that catched my eyes the most in online swatches. It's a beautiful pinky peachy color, the best in helping you looking awake and healthy in the morning (and you maybe already know this is what I look for in a blush). Then I also picked up the Bourjois Bronzing Primer (9.99£), since everyone says it should be similar in its concept to the Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel, which I never wanted to try because of its price. I immediately fell in love with its chocolate scent, and be aware, you could be tempted to eat it. It is a browny mousse you are meant to apply on your face before your makeup, exactly as a face primer, but for your contouring areas; actually you can use it also as a creamy bronzer, since it definitely is something like that. I like applying it on bare skin, before foundation, with a not-that-light-hand to sculpt my face as I can, then to apply my usual base (MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural) to soften it up a bit, and no bronzer on top. In this way it last a really long time and my face looks defined untill I came back home, without ever being too much.

Dato che ASOS aveva in saldo tutti i prodotti Bourjois, ho deciso di ordinare anche gli altri che da tempo osservavo, come i Bourjois Cream Blushes (10.77€), che sono forse il prodotto più chiacchierato nel mondo dei beauty blog tra le scelte firmate Bourjois: ho deciso di optare per la tonalità 02 Healthy Glow, che è quella che più mi attirava vedendo gli swatch online. E' un bellissimo pesca di base rosa, il miglior colore per rendere un viso stanco e spento, vivo e fresco anche di primo mattino (e forse sapete già che questo è ciò che cerco da un blush). Poi ho anche preso il Bourjois Bronzing Primer (13.46€), dato che più o meno tutti ne parlano come molto simile  nel concetto al Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel, che non ho mai preso in considerazione causa prezzo. Immediatamente mi sono innamorata del suo profumo di cioccolato, e siatene coscienti, questo prodotto fa venir fame. E' un bronzer in mousse pensato per essere applicato sul viso prima del makeup vero e proprio, come un primer per l'area contouring; in realtà si può anche utilizzare come bronzer cremoso, anche se forse è un prodotto troppo bagnato per questo scopo. Lo applico sulla pelle struccata, prima del fondotinta, con una mano non proprio leggera, per scolpire il mio viso come meglio riesco, poi applico la mia base usuale (MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural) per addolcire e alleggerire un po' il colore, senza poi aggiungere una terra in polvere sopra. In questo modo dura davvero a lungo e il mio viso risulta definito finchè non torno a casa, senza però essere qualcosa di eccessivo.

Lastly I bought another L'Oreal Telescopic Waterproof Mascara (5.99£) (yep, it's the discontinued version), since it is my favorite mascara ever and I finished my last one. I was looking for the new version, but in Italy it seems impossible to find. I also decided to try the Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask (5.10£), since I was looking for a quick mask to apply in the morning when my skin looks particularly bad. We'll see if it can come helpful! It has a delicious orange scent which I love (I know, it seems I love every kind of scent existing in the world, but it's not like that!).

Infine ho acquistato un altro L'Oreal Telescopic Waterproof Mascara (5.99£) (sì la versione fuori produzione), dato che è il mio mascara preferito e ho finito quello che possedevo. In verità stavo cerando la nuova versione, ma in Italia (o perlomeno qui da me) è praticamente impossibile da trovare. Ho deciso di provare anche la maschera Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask (6.25€), dato che stavo cercando da molto una maschera veloce da applicare quelle mattine in cui la mia pelle sembra (ed è) più orrenda del solito. Vedremo se potrà tornare utile! Ha un profumo delizioso di arancia, che amo (lo so, sembra sempre che io ami qualsiasi genere di profumo esistente, ma davvero non è così!).
