Last month I started a new feature for this little blog where I spoke about my haircare products and how I wanted to have a cleaner experience when working with my hair. If you read that post you know I was in love with the Biofficina Toscana Active Concentrate Conditioner and I still am - and this is the reason why a new conditioner in my routine is not needed and you won't read about any in this post -, but I also wasn't that impressed with the shampoo I tried, so this past month I went through some others that may have impressed me a bit more.
Il mese scorso ho iniziato una nuova rubrica per questo blog in cui parlavo dei prodotti che uso per la cura dei capelli e di come volevo iniziare ad avere un'esperienza più "verde". Se avete letto quel post saprete che mi sono innamorata del Balsamo Concentrato Attivo di Biofficina Toscata e lo sono ancora - motivo per cui non avevo bisogno di porvare nuovi balsami e per cui in questo aggiornamento non ne troverete -, ma non ero invece troppo impressionata dello shampoo che avevo provato, quindi durante questo mese appena passato ne ho provati altri che mi potrebbero aver sorpresa un po' di più.
This month I traveled and I needed a travel size natural shampoo to bring with me, so I went for the Apeiron Keshawa Balance Shampoo (3,99€) which is available in both full size and 30ml size so it's great if you want to try it before buying a more expensive supply or to travel as well. This shampoo is meant to give freshness and volume to your hair, expecially thought for oilier scalps like mine to regolate them and contains gentle natural ingredients to not stress the hair if you wash it frequently. It features extract of sage, nettle and horsetail which should help in normalize oily scalps, chamomile and sea salt to soothe and avoid itchiness and extract of eclipta to provide strongness and silkiness. Does it work? It's a nice shampoo, maybe a bit too difficult to blend and spread all over but in general I liked it and its fresh neutral scent. It's not that great though in keeping your hair clean for longer, and for more than 10€ I may wanted a bit more. Another shampoo I tried this last month is the La Saponaria Sunflower and Sweet Orange Shampoo (8€), that contains flaxseed, moringa and sunflower extracts and smells pretty citrus like a sweet orange with a note of moringa. This should help in providing vitality and shine to stressed hair plus La Saponaria's shampoos are famous to be some of the best organic shampoo in keeping your hair clean for longer and being very foamy then also easy to work in your hair. I totally agree and I'm really enjoying this shampoo right now; it has a concentrated formula so you need just a tiny bit of product mixed with water which justify the higher price, in fact this bottle is lasting me a really long time. I'm not a huge fan of the scent though, but it doesn't stay on your hair, so it's ok. This is maybe not the best choice for my hair type, but I'm definitely going to try something else from this italian brand.
Questo mese ho viaggiato dunque avevo bisogno di una travel size di uno shampoo naturale e bio da portare con me, così ho optato per il Apeiron Keshawa Balance Shampoo (3,99€) che è disponibile sia nella versione full size sia in quella da 30ml perfetta se si vuole provare il prodotto prima di acquistare la bottiglia più grande e più costosa o per viaggiare come ho fatto io. Questo shampoo è pensato per dare freschezza e volume ai capelli, adatto soprattutto ai capelli più grassi come i miei per regolare le cuti e che contiene ingredienti naturali per non stressare i capelli lavati frequentemente. Contiene estratto di salvia, ortica ed equiseto che dovrebbero aiutare nel normalizzare il cuoio capelluto, camomilla e sale marino per lenire ed evitare i pruriti e estratto di eclipta per donare resistenza e setosità. Funziona davvero? E' un buono shampoo, forse un po' troppo difficile da lavorare nei capelli per i miei gusti, ma in generale mi è piaciuto sia lui sia il suo profumo fresco e neutrale. Non è invece il massimo per avere capelli puliti più a lungo, e per più di 10€ forse mi sarei aspettata anche questo. Un altro shampoo che ho provato questo mese è stato il La Saponaria Shampoo al Girasole e Arancio Dolce (8€), che contiene estratti di semi di lino, moringa e girasole e ha un profumo molto agrumato come un'arancia dolce con una nota di moringa. Questo dovrebbe aiutare nel donare vitalità e lucentezza ai capelli stressati e in più gli shampoo La Saponaria sono famosi per essere ottimi nel mantenere i capelli puliti più a lungo e anche per essere molto schiumogeni e quindi più semplici da stendere sui capelli. Sono completamente d'accordo e mi sta piacendo moltissimo questo shampoo al momento; ha una formula concentrata quindi ne serve davvero poco alla volta da mescolare con acqua, il che giustifica anche il prezzo un po' più alto, infatti questa bottiglia mi sta durando molto a lungo. Non sono invece una fan del profumo, ma non rimane a lungo sui capelli, quindi è ok. Magari non è la miglior scelta per il mio tipo di capelli, ma proverò sicuramente qualcos'altro da questo brand italiano.
As for styling I'm enjoying the Percy and Reed Wonderbalm (£18) maybe not that hugely clean product but I really like it as it's so lightweight and easy to apply, has a nice consistency to be blended and worked through your hair from roots to ends. It claims to provides everything your hair needs such as moisture, smoothness and shine, but I expecially love it for how it makes a good base for every other hair styling product to be put on top. It leaves my hair so manegeable that every hair style really lasts a bit longer even on my super plain hair. Finally I added to my routine a good hairbrush and said bye to my old pink comb, and yes, if you were asking, I'm definitely so late in getting the Tangle Teezer (£12,25) only at this time, but now I'm so happy with my purchase since this hairbrush helps a lot in decreasing the hair loss: you have to know I was really worried about my locks and how many of them I used to loose when using a standard hairbrush and too much paraben-full hair products, but now, thanks to this going green concern and this new great hairbrush, I don't see locks everywhere on my floor anymore.
Per quanto riguarda lo styling sto apprezzando il Percy and Reed Wonderbalm (£18) che può anche non essere un prodotto troppo verde ma mi sta piacendo perchè è talmente leggero e facile da applicare, in più ha una consistenza piacevole e ideale per essere lavorata nei capelli dalle radici alle punte. Promette di donare ai capelli tutto ciò di cui hanno bisogno come idratarli, addolcirli e renderli più luminosi, ma a me piace principalmente da applicare come base per ogni altro prodotto per capelli o pettinatura. Lascia i miei capelli molto maneggiabili cosicché ogni messa in piega dura davvero più a lungo anche sui miei capelli super piatti. Infine ho aggiunto alla mia routine una buona spazzola e ho detto addio dal mio vecchio pettine rosa, e sì, se ve lo state chiedendo, sono tremendamente in ritardo ad aver comprato la Tangle Teezer (15,93€) solo ora, ma ne sono completamente soddisfatta dato che questa spazzola aiuta davvero nel diminuire la perdita di capelli: dovete sapere che sono stata a lungo super preoccupata per i miei capelli e per quanti ne perdessi quando usavo una normale spazzola e troppi prodotti siliconici, ma ora, grazie a questo progetto di usare prodotti più puliti e verdi e a questa nuova spazzola, non vedo più ciocche di capelli in ogni dove sul pavimento.
I'm super happy with how this project is going on and I'm always very excited to try some new organic hair products out. My hair really loves dealing with cleaner products and the results are definitely visible as I just told you, now I just need to find my number one favorite shampoo and there I go!
Sono contentissima di come questo progetto stia andando avanti e non vedo l'ora di provare nuovi prodotti bio. I miei capelli amano avere a che fare con prodotti più puliti e i risultati sono decisamente visibili come vi ho appena detto, ora ho solo bisogno di trovare il mio shampoo preferito!
